Translated from Maori, Koanui means a large
and happy place to meet and stay, and host Karen makes
every effort to live up to this.
The Koanui complex includes the hostel building
which is a century old dwelling originally built as a guest
house and has been refurbished to provide an atmosphere where
you will perhaps enjoy spending time to take advantage of
the casual work available all year round.
The
lodge was purpose built in 2003 to provide spacious, comfortable,
modern accommodation for visitors to the area. It is well
set up to accommodate group bookings and can be booked for
exclusive use. Contact us to discuss your requirements.
Koanui is situated on the outskirts of town,
within 5 minutes walk of the town center, a supermarket, Post
Office, movie theatre, swimming pool, gymnasium, Information
Centre, railway station and the bus depot.
Blenheim is situated in the middle of New Zealand’s
largest wine growing region, with more than 40 wineries offering
tastings and food. It is a short drive from the Marlborough
Sounds with the well known Queen Charlotte Walkway and many
other tramping and kayaking activities.
So call in to Koanui, relax in our comfortable
surroundings, enjoy our “large and happy place”,
and take advantage of our great weather, wineries, restaurants
and other attractions.
Make enquiries on arrival for information
or assistance with booking future travel, activities in and
around Marlborough.
